The New Orleans Ministry Seeks Volunteers for January Trips
The New Orleans Ministry at Presentation has just completed its fourth and final trip of 2008. In October, our ministry was well represented at the second annual "Women's Build Week" to rebuild homes and celebrate the participation of women in the struggle to restore hope to the people of New Orleans. Many parishioners have heard Our Lord's encouragement to help others and our ministry responded with four very successful trips in 2008. We're not done yet! We have started preparations to travel again to New Orleans with two trips scheduled in January. Our first trip will be January 4-10 followed by our second trip January 11-17. This ministry has inspired a broad range of enthusiasm and support within our parish community and we are thankful for your continuing prayers and support. Men, women and college students are invited to participate. If you have special skills in home improvements (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, painting, etc.) please indicate your talents. Although experience is not necessary it can be extremely beneficial. For more information about The New Orleans Ministry at Presentation, please visit our website at www.neworleansministry.org. You can also speak with the members of our team who will be involved with this trip: Bob Eid, Jerry Lynch, Eric Nedelkoff, Megan Graham, Craig Lawson, and Tom Yuhas.
If you are interested in participating in one of our January trips to help rebuild homes in St. Bernard Parish, please contact Margie Rightmyer in the parish office at 201-327-1313, ext. 40 or by email at mrightmyer@churchofpresentation.org. We ask volunteers for $390 to help cover the costs which are approaching $500 (this covers airfare, all transportation, food and lodging at nearby Camp Hope, Violet, Louisiana ). If you can afford the $500, we would greatly appreciate that. We are anticipating a good response so please try to respond by November 28th.
